If you aren’t already, you should subscribe to my email newsletter, SCRAPINGS, ETC. The next one, coming out in a few days (probably next week) is going to have an exclusive short prose story, just something I worked on one day on the subway (smartphones have made on-the-spot writing really easy) and finished yesterday up at home.
Also don’t forget that I publish my weird comic ELKHEART through the newsletter, as well as essays on stuff and some updates on my writing. You can peruse the archive, which I currently have visible, (which sorta defeats the purpose of telling people to subscribe, I know, but that might change soon), so now’s a pretty good time to catch up.
I love email newsletters, their resurgence in the past year or so has been one of my favorite things on the web amongst writers, artists, etc. It feels very curated but also intensely chaotic and unorganized, anything from foodie stuff to essays to updates on work to recommendations from all sorts of people. Even though my little newsletter isn’t anywhere near the circulation of where a lot of my favorites are, I try to semi-regularly make sure that I post and use it to keep it going.
A lot of people will tell you email is dead, but the staggering wendigo-infused corpse of email newsletters is my kind of haunting.
